Job Summary
This role involves the independent organization and execution of full-day molecular biology experiments for school classes, including practical participation and the recruitment and training of student assistants. The successful candidate will also prepare and assist with biochemical practical courses for university students and provide laboratory instruction for research interns. Key responsibilities include performing a variety of biochemical, molecular biological, and cell biological tasks such as Western Blot, ELISA, PCR, DNA recombination, cell cultivation and transformation, as well as protein biochemical work including protein isolation and analysis. The position requires the application of chromatographic and spectroscopic methods. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art research facility within a leading German university, contributing to both research and educational initiatives.
Required Skills
Education
Completed training as a state-recognized Technical Assistant (ideally CTA or BTA) or Chemical/Biological Laboratory Technician with equivalent skills and experience. Other relevant degrees or qualifications are also welcome.
Experience
- Proven in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge in PCR diagnostics and molecular biology
- Very good knowledge of protein chemical working techniques
- Knowledge of cell biology and biochemistry
- Experience in organizing, scheduling, supervising, and conducting experiments
