Job Summary
The Fraunhofer Institute of Interfacial and Biochemical Engineering IGB is seeking a highly skilled Biotechnologist to lead and expand their 'Virus-based Therapies and Technologies' department, particularly at their new Biberach branch. This role involves strategic development, securing industrial and public funding, and managing research projects focused on practical, market-oriented viral therapeutics. The successful candidate will foster collaborations with academic and industrial partners, drive intellectual property development, and ensure knowledge transfer into real-world applications. Required Skills
Education
PhD in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Molecular Biotechnology, Virology, or a related field
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in leading projects or teams, preferably in applied research
- Considerable experience in the acquisition and implementation of research and development projects with national and international partners, with a particular focus on industrial cooperation
- Professional experience in building and maintaining a strong interdisciplinary team
- Internationally visible scientific excellence
