Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to lead and build a cutting-edge Astronomical Data Center for the new German Center for Astrophysics (DZA) in Görlitz, Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and managing a modern data center that integrates diverse astronomical datasets from global projects like SKA, MeerKAT, and Gaia, making them accessible to the scientific community and public. This role involves leading a research group, conducting interdisciplinary research in astrophysics, data science, machine learning, and high-performance computing, and actively shaping the future of German astrophysics. You will drive innovation, acquire external funding, and contribute significantly to the structural transformation of the Lusatia region through groundbreaking research and technology development.
