Job Summary

The Research Associate will be a key member of the Thomas Gessmann Hydrogen Laboratory at Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences, focusing on the critical area of hydrogen's impact on metals. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, executing, and evaluating experiments related to hydrogen influence on metallic materials, alongside developing specialized hydrogen testing facilities. This role requires strong scientific rigor, as the associate will be expected to publish findings in professional journals and present at scientific conferences. Collaboration is central, involving close coordination with the research team, external research institutions, and industrial partners. Active participation in standardization committees (DIN EN ISO) is also part of the role, contributing to industry standards.
