Job Summary
This role involves the crucial centralization and professionalization of the DZHK Heart Bank, Germany's largest collection of cardiovascular biological samples and data. The Biobank Technician will be responsible for managing approximately 250,000 liquid samples and 6,000 tissue samples, consolidating them from 17 different facilities to the Integrated Research Biobank (IRB) in Greifswald. Day-to-day tasks include verifying samples, organizing transport, managing sample storage (in and out), sorting with automated workbenches, digital archiving, and handling dry ice shipments. The position requires a background as a Medical Technical Assistant or Biological Technical Assistant, ideally with experience in bio-sample handling and automated storage systems. Education
Completed training as a Medical Technical Assistant or Biological Technical Assistant
Experience
- Experience in handling biological samples (automated storage at -80°C and in nitrogen, sample shipping, bio-sample management systems) is ideal
