Job Summary
This role is for a Chemical-Technical Assistant at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg, specifically within the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy. The successful candidate will be integral to the research groups focusing on metal-ligand complex chemistry and the activation of small molecules. Day-to-day tasks involve conducting and documenting investigations using advanced analytical techniques like Simultaneous Thermogravimetry – Differential Scanning Calorimetry (STA) coupled with Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry. Responsibilities also include operating and maintaining large-scale equipment, supporting scientific staff in R&D projects, monitoring solvent systems via Karl Fischer titration, and maintaining measuring devices for student practicals. The ideal candidate will possess a completed CTA qualification or equivalent, strong PC skills, and preferably experience with TGA, DSC, GC-MS, and handling hazardous materials. - Experience and knowledge in handling hazardous materials
- Experience and knowledge in handling liquid nitrogen as a coolant
