Job Summary

As a Component Qualification Specialist, you will be instrumental in ensuring the continued functionality of railway control and safety systems (LST) by managing obsolete components. Your daily tasks will involve performing norm-compliant qualification of new replacement parts, conducting metrological analyses, and documenting findings. You will also be responsible for developing manufacturing, repair, and testing specifications, implementing test parameters in software, and designing supporting test circuits. A key part of the role is reviewing technical documentation for conformity and contributing to the development and testing of new test benches. This position is attractive for engineers with a strong background in electrical engineering or mechatronics, practical experience in obsolescence and approval management within the railway sector, and proficiency in relevant industrial programming languages and office applications. You will play a critical role in maintaining essential infrastructure for future generations.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics) or Technician/Master with relevant professional experience

Experience

  • Professional experience in obsolescence and approval management in railway control and safety technology (LST)
  • Practical knowledge of underlying regulations (GluV, LST approval procedures, Mü8004, sector guidelines and relevant norms)
  • Robust knowledge of electronic components as well as analog and digital circuits, with the ability to analyze them
