Job Summary
This role is for an Embedded Systems Engineer passionate about medical technology, focusing on the development and maintenance of active medical devices. The successful candidate will be responsible for electronics hardware and embedded software within cross-functional new development projects. Key responsibilities include analyzing requirements, designing system concepts and architectures, particularly for electronic and software components, and designing PCBs and complete systems from proof of concept to series production. The role also involves maintaining and developing existing products, conducting error analyses, managing end-of-life processes, supporting approval tests, and creating documentation in a regulated medical technology environment. Close collaboration with software, electromechanics, and external partners is essential, offering a dynamic and impactful position in a growing field.
Required Skills
Education
Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Medical Technology, Computer Engineering, or Mechatronics
Experience
- Professional experience in hardware and software development for analog and digital circuits and embedded systems (e.g., ARM Cortex M0+, M4, M7)
- Experience in PCB routing with Altium or Siemens PADS
- Experience with standards (e.g., IEC 60601-1, IEC 62304) and measurement technology in a regulated medical technology environment
- Experience collaborating with external development partners is desirable
- Electrical engineering experience with Power Systems / AC/DC motors is desirable
