Job Summary

The Medical Communications Manager serves as the external-facing scientific communications lead for the Gastroenterology and Inflammation (GI2) therapeutic area within a major pharmaceutical company. This strategic role involves planning and executing comprehensive medical education initiatives and omni-channel scientific communication campaigns utilizing traditional, innovative, and digital platforms. The manager will partner closely with Digital, Data & Technology (DD&T) and Field Medical teams to translate complex scientific evidence into clear, compliant, and impactful narratives. A core responsibility includes designing scientific customer journeys, leveraging AI-driven analytics, and utilizing advanced CRM tools like OCE automation to continuously optimize reach, engagement, and educational outcomes. This position requires strong scientific writing, digital literacy, and the ability to manage content operations, vendor relationships, and ensure strict adherence to compliance frameworks in a highly collaborative, international environment.

Required Skills

Education

Advanced degree in Life Sciences (PharmD, PhD, MD, or MSc with equivalent experience).

Experience

  • 2–4 years’ experience in Medical Affairs or Medical Communications.
  • Professional experience in Project and Vendor Management, delivering multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Experience applying data literacy and proficiency with AI-driven analytics for measurement and optimization.
  • Experience coordinating local publication needs (abstracts, posters) in line with global/local policies.
  • Experience in Immunology (Psoriasis, Psoriatic Arthritis or Inflammatory bowel disease) is an advantage.
