Job Summary
The University of Vechta is seeking an Open-Source Developer to join their interdisciplinary team, focusing on the DSpace-CRIS-based Vechta Research Online (VeRO) system. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering requirements, customizing, and further developing the DSpace-CRIS software to meet current needs. Key tasks include technical integration of services, configuring interfaces, performing updates, and adapting the system to local requirements. You will also develop innovative solutions for the provision, analysis, migration, and quality assurance of research information, while documenting development activities and representing the university's interests within the DSpace-CRIS community and with external partners. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field, or at least 3 years of proven practical experience in the advertised role's tasks.
Experience
- Professional experience in complex software projects, particularly in the development and operation of database-driven web applications
- Experience with DSpace-CRIS or willingness to technically familiarize oneself with it
- Professional experience in science management at a university or comparable institution (desired)

- This is a fixed-term contract for an initial 2 years, with the option for extension. The position is part-time, up to 75% (up to 29.85 hours/week). The role involves active participation in the DSpace-Community and other regional, national, and international networks.
