Job Summary

The Institute of Microbiology at the University of Greifswald is seeking two highly motivated Research Associates for part-time, fixed-term positions. These roles involve cutting-edge research in microbial proteomics, contributing to either the 'WETSCAPES2.0' project, focusing on the functional understanding of rewetted fens and their microbial processes, or the 'Alg4Nut' project, investigating the influence of marine algae on animal nutrition, specifically bovine rumen microbiomes. The successful candidates will be responsible for conducting experiments, preparing and analyzing proteomic samples using mass spectrometry, and actively participating in project meetings and presenting research findings. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or comparable scientific university degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life science field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in experimental scientific work
  • Experience in microbiology and proteomics (desired)
  • Experience in proteome analysis (protein sample preparation, HPLC, mass spectrometry) and proteomic data processing (e.g., MaxQuant, Mascot) (desired)
  • Experience in writing scientific texts and presentations (desired)
