Job Summary

This role involves ensuring automotive materials comply with national and international standards and regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, reviewing, and approving IMDS material data sheets, analyzing material data for legal and safety-relevant chemical content, and presenting findings to clients. Key tasks include managing vehicle bills of material, sourcing missing material data from the supply chain, and providing expert support on IMDS and material prohibitions to OEMs and suppliers. This position requires a background in chemistry or materials science, practical knowledge of automotive materials, and strong communication skills to act as a primary point of contact and consultant for clients.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Vehicle Construction, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Management, or a solid technical education with relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in chemistry, materials science, or related technical field
  • Practical knowledge of materials, ideally within the automotive industry
  • Experience with vehicle components/automotive construction is highly desirable
  • Initial knowledge of legal substance prohibitions (e.g., ELV, POP, TSCA, REACh) is desirable
  • Initial user knowledge of life cycle assessment software, with "LCA for Experts" software knowledge being advantageous
