Job Summary

This role is for an experienced Project Engineer to join the Building Management department of the City of Wuppertal (GMW), a leading municipal facility management company in Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing new construction, renovation, and expansion projects for various municipal buildings, including schools, cultural sites, and administrative facilities. Key responsibilities include comprehensive project steering, controlling, and acting as the client representative, ensuring adherence to public regulations and building guidelines. The position requires strong project management skills, experience with complex construction projects, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal departments, city clients, and external contractors. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Dipl. Ing. (FH) / B. A., B. Sc. or B. Eng.) in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Alternatively, qualification as a Technician or Master Craftsman with equivalent skills and experience.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in planning, execution, and project management of construction measures
  • Several years of professional experience with complex construction projects (e.g., HOAI fee zone IV or European tender procedures for construction services)
  • Experience in cost control and controlling of construction measures
  • Experience in project management and steering of external planning offices (preferred)
  • Experience with special buildings / assembly venues (preferred)
  • Experience with construction measures using federal and/or state funding (preferred)

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Valid Class B or 3 driver's license and willingness to undertake business trips within the Wuppertal city area (preferred).
