Job Summary
The City of Wiesbaden is seeking a Data Manager to join its Statistics and Urban Research Department, part of Germany's first Smart City Department. This role is crucial for transforming the city's extensive data assets – covering population, housing, labor, economy, education, and social sectors – into accessible, usable, and engaging formats for both internal administration and the public. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and maintaining structured data sets for statistical analysis, developing forecasts and models for urban development, and preparing results for various stakeholders. The position also involves automating data-driven processes, managing specialized portals, and supporting election data processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics or computer science, significant experience with complex statistical analysis, and proficiency in data visualization and statistical software, contributing to an innovative, digitized future for the city.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (minimum Diploma-FH/Bachelor), preferably in Statistics, Computer Science, or Economics
Experience
- Several years of experience in applying complex statistical and spatial analysis methods
- Proficient knowledge in data analysis, preparation, and visualization
- Extensive experience in using statistical software (e.g., Python, R, SAS) and database systems
- Desirable experience in programming applications (e.g., Excel programming for standardized graphics and tables in MS Office)
