Job Summary

Join a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining and enhancing Germany's vital highway infrastructure. As a Geoinformatics Specialist, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, building, and continuously evolving Geoinformation Systems (GIS) for various applications, including server, desktop, web, and mobile platforms. Your role involves contributing to the development of the geodata infrastructure and overseeing comprehensive geodata management, from data acquisition and quality assurance to processing and distribution throughout the traffic infrastructure's lifecycle. You will also manage GIS projects using agile methodologies like DevOps, develop automated geodata processing solutions, and serve as a key consultant for strategic questions related to road information banks and GIS. This position offers a chance to apply your expertise in a critical sector, ensuring Germany's mobility and contributing to the future of its autobahn network.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed degree in Geoinformatics, Surveying, Cartography, Geography, or comparable qualifications

Experience

  • Professional experience in the application and administration of Geoinformation Systems (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS)
  • Experience with Web-GIS and mobile GIS solutions
  • Experience with database systems and their query languages
  • Experience in geodata management (acquisition, quality assurance, processing, provision)
  • Experience working with geodata infrastructures
  • Proficient in a programming language
  • Experience with modern software development methods, especially agile approaches (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and tools like DevOps
  • Knowledge in the automation of geodata processes, ideally with scripting languages (e.g., Python) and service-oriented architectures (e.g., REST, OGC standards)
