Job Summary

This role involves providing crucial support in coordinating grant acquisition and advising local mayors on funding opportunities. The officer will actively assist planning offices in developing studies and concepts, such as feasibility studies, and manage public relations for projects. Key responsibilities include preparing grant applications, independently conducting public procurement procedures, and managing tender publications. The position also entails building and maintaining an IT-supported register for grant documentation, advising departments on funding programs, and overseeing projects from realization to completion. Required Skills

Education

Completed training as an Administrative Assistant with successful completion of Employee Course II, OR completed training as an Administrative Assistant with willingness to complete Employee Course II, OR completed training as an Administrative Assistant with exemption from training and examination requirement per § 29 a Abs. 7 TVÜ or Point 7 Abs. 5a) of the basic classification regulations for the Remuneration Ordinance VKA, OR comparable Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or similar, OR commercial training with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in grant and/or project management.

Experience

  • Professional experience in grant and/or project management (if commercial training is the primary qualification)
  • Experience in applying for and processing funding projects/programs (EU, federal, state levels) (desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience in budget and procurement law (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the funding landscape and grant law (desirable)
  • Experience working in a municipal administration (desirable)

Additional

  • This position is temporary, covering maternity leave and subsequent parental leave, for a maximum duration until December 31, 2027. Full-time or part-time work is possible (39 hours/week for full-time). Candidates must be willing to undergo intensive training in budget and procurement law, and grant law if not already proficient. Strong communication, negotiation, and assertiveness are required for internal and external interactions, even with conflicting interests. High motivation, resilience, and the ability to work independently and responsibly are essential. Candidates with severe disabilities will be given preferential consideration if equally qualified.
