Job Summary

The Landestalsperrenverwaltung (LTV), a key part of the Saxon State Ministry for Environment and Agriculture, is seeking a Dam Safety Expert for its Technical Supervision department in Pirna. This role involves comprehensively assessing the safety and performance of dams, supporting related planning and construction projects, and preparing safety reports. A core responsibility will be leading and conducting in-depth reviews of dams, including re-evaluating hydraulic and static foundations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in civil engineering, particularly hydraulic engineering, with expertise in structural mechanics and geotechnical analysis. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diplom/Master) in Civil Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Hydraulic Engineering. For university of applied sciences degrees, an accredited Master's degree is required.

Experience

  • Professional experience in assessing the condition and behavior of dams
  • Experience in preparing safety reports for dams
  • Experience in conducting in-depth reviews of dams, including hydraulic and static re-evaluation
  • Experience in preparing, awarding, and supervising stability analyses and geotechnical reports
  • Experience in performing relevant calculations independently
  • Desirable: Extended structural mechanical knowledge and experience in Finite Element Method (FEM) calculations
