Job Summary
The City of Schrobenhausen is seeking a dedicated professional to lead its Flood Protection Unit. This full-time, permanent role involves coordinating all flood and heavy rain protection measures for the city, directly reporting to the First Mayor. Key responsibilities include leading an internal project group, building and maintaining networks with various stakeholders (administration, politics, science, community), and overseeing the development and updating of the city's flood protection concept. The role also requires active participation in public relations, advising citizens on protection measures, and preparing decision-making bases for disaster prevention. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public administration or natural sciences with a focus on water management, excellent communication skills, and a structured, reliable approach to work.
Required Skills
Education
Successfully completed Fachprüfung II as a Verwaltungsfachwirt (Administrative Specialist), or eligibility for the third qualification level of the administrative and finance career path with a focus on non-technical administrative services, or a successfully completed scientific university degree (Diplom, Magister, or Master) in a natural science discipline with a water-related focus, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in flood protection or water management is advantageous
- Knowledge of current water management regulations is advantageous
