Job Summary

This role is for a Research Associate and Doctoral Candidate in Educational Neuroscience at Philipps-Universität Marburg. The successful candidate will be involved in cutting-edge research exploring how experience changes brain structure and function, particularly myelin content, across the lifespan. Day-to-day tasks include planning, conducting, and analyzing MRI experiments, including data collection from infants and children, preparing publications, and presenting findings at conferences. The position offers an excellent opportunity for independent scientific work, leading to a doctoral degree. It requires a strong academic background in neuroscience, psychology, or computer science, programming skills, and a keen interest in learning new methods and working with diverse age groups. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Diploma, Master, or equivalent) in Neuroscience, Psychology, Computer Science, or a similar field. Willingness to pursue a doctoral degree (e.g., a doctoral project in Educational Neuroscience).

Experience

  • Experience with MRI data acquisition and analysis (ideally)
  • Interest and experience in working with infants and/or children

Languages

English (Fluent)

Additional

  • Part-time position (65% of full-time hours). Fixed-term contract for 3 years, unless prior qualification periods need to be accounted for. Expected to pursue own scientific qualification (e.g., a doctoral project).
