Job Summary

Join the Department of Urology at the University Hospital of Bern as a Lab Technician, contributing to vital basic and translational research in functional urology. This exciting position places you within a motivated, international team utilizing modern infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing a wide range of biological and molecular biology experiments, such as cell culture, RNA/DNA/protein analyses, PCR, Western blot, sequencing, and flow cytometry. You will also be responsible for conducting necessary animal experiments, including their care, handling, and documentation. Crucially, you will manage laboratory logistics, covering orders, inventory, financial routines, and ensuring stringent quality and safety standards are met. Candidates must have completed formal training as a biology laboratory technician or hold an equivalent qualification, alongside solid technical knowledge and required experience in animal work (LTK, FELASA or equivalent). Strong organizational skills and excellent communication in both German and English are essential for success in this diverse and responsible role.
