Job Summary

This role is for a Controls Engineering Team Manager within AWS Infrastructure Services, focusing on the design, planning, delivery, and operation of global infrastructure. The manager will lead a team of Controls Engineers responsible for deploying, servicing, and maintaining building automation systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS) in Amazon data centers. Key responsibilities include overseeing new-build construction deployments, planned maintenance, and critical infrastructure improvement projects to optimize power and cooling. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a hands-on management approach, capable of developing innovative solutions, driving process improvement, and managing project portfolios to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, HVAC, or other related engineering degrees

Experience

  • 10+ years in controls-related experience
  • Experience hiring, promoting, coaching, leading, and developing teams of controls professionals
  • Experience with industrial controls in critical environments (data center, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, oil & gas, petrochemical, laboratory, power, water etc.)
  • Experience with general project or vendor management (request for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, RFI, and submittal tracking) associated with project execution
  • Professional experience within a data center environment
