Job Summary

The Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR) is seeking an experienced Engineer specializing in Electrical or Communications Technology. This role involves comprehensive project management and client-side responsibilities for complex building projects, particularly focusing on existing structures and operations within a historically protected former barracks site. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining construction needs, drafting service specifications for external contractors, overseeing project execution, and ensuring compliance with quality, schedule, and cost objectives. This position requires strong technical expertise in planning and executing technically demanding properties, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Required Skills

Education

University of Applied Sciences or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, specializing in Electrical and Information Technology or Communications Technology, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • At least three years of professional experience as an engineer
  • Expertise in planning and executing technically complex properties, especially in renovation projects within existing and operational buildings
  • Experience with relevant legal and administrative regulations and standards (VDI, VDE, VDS, DIN, AMEV, BSI-TL)
  • Practical administrative experience and knowledge of VOB, VHB, VgV, and RBBau
  • Experience in fire protection and monument preservation

  • Successful completion of a security clearance up to 'Ü 3' according to the Federal Security Clearance Act (SÜG des Bundes) after a successful selection process. This is a temporary contract until December 31, 2029. Applicants with foreign university degrees must provide proof of recognition from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB).
