Job Summary
This part-time (50%) Technical Assistant role at the Professorship for Synthetic Biology at TUM Campus Straubing offers a unique opportunity for a skilled Biotechnological Assistant (BTA) to contribute to cutting-edge research. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting laboratory organization and safety, managing consumables and chemicals, and actively participating in the planning, execution, and documentation of experiments. Key responsibilities include performing a wide range of micro- and molecular biological and biochemical techniques, such as nucleic acid extraction, PCR, cloning, and cell-free transcription and translation. This position is ideal for someone passionate about contributing to a dynamic, international research environment, eager to learn new methods like microfluidics and microscopy, and comfortable introducing students to fundamental laboratory practices, sometimes in English.
