Job Summary

The Friedrich-Loeffler-Institute, a leading animal health research institute, is seeking a Senior AI Specialist to advance its scientific IT infrastructure. This role involves conceptualizing and developing deep learning methods for automated pattern recognition in complex image and video data, and enhancing existing bioinformatics pipelines with modern machine learning and language model technologies. The specialist will also establish generative AI models for semantic linking of research data, develop chatbot and agent-based AI systems, and support the establishment of AI infrastructure and tools. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree (preferably a PhD) in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or Life Sciences with IT qualifications, strong project management skills, and a collaborative mindset.
