Job Summary
This role involves leading the "Wind Measurement and Characterization" group at Fraunhofer IWES, focusing on developing innovative wind measurement methods for the offshore wind industry. The successful candidate will oversee a team of nine employees and several students, coordinating tasks, monitoring results, conducting employee reviews, and fostering team development. Key responsibilities include acquiring and leading strategic research projects, contributing to commercial projects for industrial clients, and participating in scientific publications. The position requires a strong background in data analysis, ideally with wind measurement data, and experience in personnel management and project acquisition. The ideal candidate will also possess expertise in offshore wind energy and Met-Ocean concepts, contributing to the institute's network in science and industry.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or Diploma in Meteorology, Oceanography, Computer Science, Engineering, or a comparable field. A doctorate in one of these areas is a plus.
Experience
- Professional experience in data analysis, ideally with wind measurement data or in wind measurements (especially Lidar and Radar)
- Experience in personnel management
- Experience in the acquisition and leadership of research and development projects
- Professional experience in the offshore wind energy sector (ideal)
- Professional experience in Met-Ocean for offshore wind farms (ideal)
