Job Summary
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join a growing team focused on cellular and molecular neurobiology at a leading German university hospital. This role involves conducting independent scientific research on molecular mechanisms of neural proteostasis, vesicular membrane transport, and autophagy in the nervous system, with a focus on synaptic protein homeostasis in metabolic stress and neurodegenerative diseases. You will utilize cutting-edge methods in cell biology, microscopy, proteomics, and mouse genetics within an interdisciplinary research environment. Additionally, you will contribute to teaching physiology for medical and dental students. The position offers an excellent international and interdisciplinary research environment, access to state-of-the-art infrastructure, and opportunities for further academic qualification, such as a Habilitation. This is a full-time, initially fixed-term position for 3 years.
Required Skills
Education
Completed scientific university studies and doctorate in Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, or a related field.
Experience
- Completed scientific university studies and doctorate in Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, or a related field.
- Sound knowledge in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Neurobiology.
- Experience with at least one of the following areas is desirable: Neural Cell Culture, Mouse Models, or Proteomics / Protein Biochemistry.
- High motivation for independent scientific work.
- Teamwork and organizational skills.
