Job Summary

The Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz is seeking a dedicated Technical Assistant in Molecular Biology to join their international team at the Institute of Molecular Biology (IMB). This part-time role involves supporting professors and researchers in the Quantitative Proteomics lab. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing molecular and cell biology work with mammalian cell cultures, preparing and analyzing biological samples using advanced techniques like flow cytometry and LC-MS/MS, and applying common molecular biology methods such as DNA/RNA isolation and cloning. You will also be responsible for independent experiment planning, execution, documentation, general lab organization, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have a completed technical assistant qualification (preferably BTA) or equivalent, strong knowledge of molecular and cell biology lab procedures, and experience with laboratory equipment. Excellent German and English language skills (C1 level) and proficiency in standard office software are also required. Required Skills

Education

Completed training as a state-recognized Technical Assistant (preferably BTA) or Laboratory Assistant with equivalent skills and experience. Bachelor's degrees in Biology or similar are also considered.

Additional
