Job Summary
DESY, a leading global research center, seeks an HVAC and Heating Systems Planning Engineer for its Hamburg location. You will be responsible for the planning, project management, and procurement of complex ventilation, climate, cooling, and heating systems, specifically tailored for laboratories, accelerator tunnels, and accelerator operations. This role involves preparing tender documents according to VOB/VHB, overseeing procurement, ensuring personnel and operational safety, managing budgets, commissioning complex equipment, conducting acceptance tests, and coordinating cross-trade activities on construction sites. You will also be involved in documenting systems and contributing to projects like BIM and CAFM implementation, making this a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge research infrastructure.
Required Skills
Education
Diplom-Ingenieur (FH) or Bachelor of Science in Building Services Engineering, or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in the planning, installation, and operation of ventilation and air conditioning systems for accelerator facilities or laboratories
- Professional experience with cooling water generation and heating supply systems
- Experience in preparing and managing tender documents according to VOB and VHB
- Experience in commissioning complex equipment and conducting acceptance tests
- Experience in cross-trade coordination on construction sites
Languages
Additional
- Ability to access ladders, scaffolding, and confined spaces. Willingness to undergo hygiene training according to VDI 6022 Category A. Knowledge of GEG specifically for climate and heating supply systems. Full-time/Part-time possible. Mobile work possible.
