Job Summary

Join a leading research center in Hamburg as a PhD student focused on Strong-field Quantum Electrodynamics (QED) Experiments. You will be instrumental in simulating QED effects in laser-electron collisions and developing optimized detection systems based on simulations and test measurements. This role involves conducting measurement campaigns at CEA Saclay and DESY, followed by rigorous data analysis to evaluate their impact on high-energy collider designs. The position requires a Master's degree in experimental physics, advanced knowledge in particle physics, detectors, and/or accelerators, and practical experience in programming (C++, Python) and laboratory work. Excellent English communication and teamwork skills are essential for this 3-year fixed-term contract within an internationally recognized research environment.
