Job Summary

This role at the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) in Berlin focuses on the scientific development, optimization, and validation of analytical methods for feed additives. You will independently analyze and evaluate data, prepare reports, and handle tasks for the National Reference Laboratory. The position involves coordinating research activities, conducting interlaboratory studies, and publishing scientific findings. You'll also guide technical staff and students, with occasional travel for work-related activities. The ideal candidate has a Master's or equivalent degree in Food Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related field, with several years of experience in instrumental analytics, method validation, and data interpretation. Strong IT skills and excellent German and English proficiency are essential.

Education

Completed university studies (Master's, Diplom, or equivalent university degree) in Food Chemistry, Chemistry, or a comparable field. PhD (desired).

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in instrumental analytics, including sample preparation and method validation, using modern analytical techniques (e.g., LC-MS/MS, LC-HR-MS, LC-UV or -FLD, ICP-MS or ICP-OES)
  • Experience with the analysis, interpretation, evaluation, and visualization of scientific datasets
  • Proven experience in presenting and publishing scientific results
  • Experience in the analytics of feed and/or feed additives (desired)
  • Experience working in an accredited laboratory according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 (desired)
