Job Summary
The University of Münster is seeking an Academic Council member for the Institute of Computer Science, starting Winter Semester 2026/2027. This full-time, permanent position involves leading the Information Processing Support Unit 5 (IVV5), responsible for IT operations across multiple departments, including personnel management, budget control, IT infrastructure development, and security implementation. The role also includes contributing to teaching duties, supervising theses, and participating in academic self-governance. The ideal candidate will have a Master of Science and a PhD in Computer Science, with strong knowledge in IT infrastructure and security, and ideally, experience in a higher education or public institution setting. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential.

Experience
- Relevant professional experience in IT infrastructure and IT security

Prior experience with the IT governance of the University of Münster is an advantage. For permanent civil servant status, specific prior professional activity requirements must be met; otherwise, employment under TV-L E 13 with potential for later transition to civil servant status is possible.
