Job Summary

DESY is seeking an Engineer (f/m/d) for their Cathode Laboratory and Beam Absorber Systems in Hamburg, Germany. This part-time, fixed-term position (16h/week for 2 years) involves the independent maintenance, development, expansion, and renewal of monitoring components for existing beam absorber systems, as well as their development for new systems. You will also be responsible for elaborating and implementing technical specifications, selecting and procuring materials and components, building prototypes, troubleshooting issues, and performing PLC programming. The ideal candidate possesses a technical university degree in electrical or communications engineering, strong knowledge in electrical/communications engineering, PLC programming, circuit development, layout, simulation, measurement and control technology, and experience with complex experimental setups and electrical systems. Excellent German and English language skills are required.
