Job Summary
Join the TU Hamburg as a Data Center Engineer, responsible for the operation and expansion of technical rooms to ensure a reliable and energy-efficient IT infrastructure. This role involves planning and operating server, network, and technical rooms, monitoring IT components, cooling, and power supply, and managing projects for new builds and expansions. You will also oversee third-party contractors and ensure internal housing services. The position offers a hands-on, collaborative team environment with exciting challenges in a modern, evolving setting. Ideal candidates possess a Master's degree in relevant engineering fields or equivalent expertise, with a strong understanding of critical infrastructure.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, Technical Building Equipment (TGA), Engineering Sciences, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in data center environments or critical infrastructures (planning, operation, consulting) is advantageous.
- Experience in project management of construction projects, ideally in a university setting, is advantageous.
- Experience with electrical infrastructure (UPS, NSHV, emergency power) or cooling technology is advantageous.
- Experience with control and regulation technology (MSR) with a focus on energy efficiency is advantageous.
