Job Summary
The City of Coburg is seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to lead the Department for Schools, Culture, and Education. This role involves overseeing key areas such as school law, student transportation, BAföG (Federal Training Assistance Act), and cultural affairs, including the city library and archives. You will be responsible for managing, guiding, and developing a team of approximately 38 employees, as well as managing the department's budget. The position requires a strong understanding of relevant legal frameworks and administrative processes. Required Skills
Education
Eligibility for the third qualification level in the 'Administration and Finance' career path with a focus on non-technical administration; OR completion of an advanced vocational training program (Beschäftigtenlehrgang II) with several years of relevant professional experience; OR a university degree (Bachelor or FH degree) in Public Administration, Educational Science, Business Law, or a comparable field, with a minimum of six semesters of study.
Experience
- Several years of relevant professional experience in public administration or a comparable field.
- Several years of leadership and personnel management experience.
- Professional experience in managing budgets.
- Experience in the areas of school law, student transportation law, BAföG, and educational and participation services.
- Experience with modern steering instruments and digital innovations.
- Experience in cultural work, city library, and city archives is desirable.
