Job Summary
This PhD position at the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut offers a unique opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research at the intersection of virology, innate immunity, and neurobiology. You will investigate how viruses interact with the immune system, focusing on novel interaction partners of PQBP1 and the molecular mechanisms of protein complexes. The role involves developing and applying mass spectrometry-based strategies to analyze viral proteomes, integrating omics approaches with advanced cell culture, molecular biology, and biochemical techniques, including work with CRISPR-engineered cell systems and primary cells. Master's degree or equivalent in life sciences or a related discipline
Experience
- Graduate degree (Master’s or equivalent) in life sciences or a related discipline
- Professional experience in cell culture
- Hands-on experience in infection biology, CRISPR/Cas, or protein biochemistry is a plus
