Job Summary

The Technical University of Dresden (TUD), a leading German research institution, is seeking a Scientific Researcher (Physicist) to join a DFG-funded research project focused on advanced design and atmospheric pressure fabrication technologies for future optical instrumentation. This role involves fundamental research into plasma processing for ultra-precise shaping, correction, and microstructuring of optical surfaces. You will contribute to developing and demonstrating an atmospheric pressure process chain for hybrid optical elements, investigating reactive plasma jet etching, and deriving optimal process parameters. The position also includes reporting, correspondence with international partners, and publishing scientific results. This is an excellent opportunity for scientific advancement, typically leading to a PhD, within a dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diploma or Master's) with above-average results in Laser and Optotechnologies, Photonic Technologies, Micro/Nanotechnology, Materials Science, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in plasma or laser technology and surface analysis.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Matlab or Python.
  • Experience in experimental work and solving scientific and physical-chemical problems.
  • Experience in team-oriented interdisciplinary collaboration.
