Job Summary

The Central Office is seeking an Environmental Engineering or Geosciences Engineer to join the Portfolio Management division. This role involves the initial assessment and risk evaluation of areas contaminated with unexploded ordnance, followed by the creation of technical action plans, including cost estimations and legal compliance. You will coordinate with various authorities, support the development of cost estimation models, and advise on liability issues related to contamination. The position requires extensive travel (over 20 days annually) and offers a dynamic work environment within Germany's federal real estate company. Ideal candidates possess a strong scientific background, practical experience in ordnance disposal, and excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills.

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Uni-Diplom/Master) in Geosciences, Environmental Engineering, Engineering Sciences, or a comparable scientific qualification.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in unexploded ordnance disposal, including technical reconnaissance, developing clearance concepts, and overseeing clearance operations.
  • Experience in historical reconnaissance and assessment of potential unexploded ordnance contamination.
  • Familiarity with the organizational structure of state ordnance clearance services or willingness to acquire this knowledge quickly.
  • Experience in project management and project leadership.
  • Experience in technical controlling of ordnance clearance measures.
