Job Summary

The City of Kassel is seeking an IT User Support Specialist to join their Digital and IT Department. In this role, you will be responsible for handling service requests and incident reports within an ITIL-oriented framework, providing first and second-level support. Your daily tasks will involve analyzing and resolving technical issues with clients, user accounts, and digital workspaces, as well as advising and assisting internal users with hardware and software queries. You will also manage user and authorization administration, configure network connections, and support the client lifecycle from deployment to installation. This position offers a chance to contribute to a modern administration and the digital future of Kassel, working within a dedicated IT team that supports approximately 4,000 employees across more than 180 locations. The role requires strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a service-oriented approach.

Required Skills

Education

Completed training as an IT specialist in system integration or a comparable qualification

Experience

  • Completed training as an IT specialist in system integration or a comparable qualification with several years of relevant professional experience
  • Professional experience in a comparable IT environment, preferably in public service and first-level support
  • Experience in the area of standard hardware and software, particularly with Microsoft Windows 11 and Microsoft Office products
