Job Summary

Join a leading Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) focused on biopharmaceuticals and dedicated to advancing medicine to protect lives. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in operating and enhancing the company-wide data platform, primarily based on Azure Synapse Analytics and Microsoft Fabric. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve implementing data integrations from various operational systems, designing and building robust ETL/ELT data pipelines for structured and unstructured data, and developing optimized data models and storage solutions like Delta Lake. You will also create data products for reporting, analytics, data science, and AI initiatives, ensuring high data quality, performance, and stability while adhering to data governance standards. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a comparable field

Experience

  • Several years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer
  • Experience in complex or regulated environments
  • Strong experience in Data Modeling
  • Practical experience with Azure data services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, Delta Lake, and Azure DevOps
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Experience with operating productive data pipelines
  • Experience in GxP-regulated environments (e.g., Pharma, MedTech, Life Sciences) and Computer System Validation (CSV) is desirable
  • Know-how in Data Governance, metadata management, or data quality frameworks is desirable
  • Ideally, initial experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Pipelines, Notebooks)
  • Basic knowledge in Power BI or other BI tools
