Job Summary
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a motivated Field Service Engineer to join their Chemical Analysis Division in Europe. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced gauging and process analytics systems at customer sites across Europe. You will perform hands-on work, including electrical, mechanical, and software troubleshooting, alongside providing on-site customer support and training. The ideal candidate possesses a technical background (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics), strong troubleshooting skills in electro-mechanical systems, and an understanding of sensor technology and industrial automation. While professional experience in field service is advantageous, motivated junior technicians with a strong technical foundation are also encouraged to apply. This position offers extensive travel opportunities and requires fluency in English.
Required Skills
Education
Technician qualification (e.g., state-certified technician) or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Mechatronics.
Experience
- Experience in field service, maintenance, or industrial technical service is an advantage
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electro-mechanical systems required
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings required
- Professional experience in technical roles is desirable for junior candidates
