Job Summary

Join the Center for Human Genetics Tübingen as a Research Associate, focusing on the analysis and interpretation of genetic data for tumor diagnostics and immuno-oncology. Your day-to-day will involve processing Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Sanger sequencing data, performing variant searches, and generating medical reports that include treatment options. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to immuno-oncology projects, including neoepitope prediction and participation in molecular tumor boards. This role requires a strong academic background in Life Sciences with a focus on tumor genetics, ideally a PhD, coupled with experience in NGS technologies, database research, and genetic software. Excellent German and English communication skills are essential. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diploma/Master or equivalent) in Life Sciences with a specialization in Tumor Genetics, ideally with a subsequent PhD.

Experience

  • Professional experience in NGS technology, database research, and genetic software.
  • Experience in variant searching and evaluation according to ACMG/ACGS/AMG/ClinClinGen classification for germline and somatic alterations.
  • Experience in generating medical reports, including the presentation of treatment options based on identified genetic alterations.
  • Optional: Experience in immuno-oncology team collaboration, including neoepitope prediction from NGS data, immune monitoring, and participation in molecular tumor boards.
