Job Summary
The Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) is seeking a motivated PhD student or postdoctoral researcher for the PERIO-IMPRINT project, investigating how maternal periodontitis impacts offspring immune development, focusing on the oral-gut axis and mucosal immunity. This role involves establishing and executing experimental workflows using in vivo mouse models, advanced flow cytometry, single-cell RNA-seq, and microbiota/epithelial barrier analyses. The position offers a unique opportunity to work within a close international collaboration between Germany and Israel, utilizing state-of-the-art facilities and contributing to cutting-edge research in infection biology. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in immunology or related fields, excellent English communication skills, and a keen interest in mechanistic immunology.
Required Skills
Education
Master’s Degree/Diploma in immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, infection biology, or a related field
Experience
- Experience with or strong interest in multicolor / spectral flow cytometry
- Interest in single-cell genomics and computational analysis
- Willingness to perform in vivo mouse work
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative international project
