Job Summary

Tesla is seeking skilled Test Technicians to join their Drive Unit and Drive Inverter Test teams, focusing on validating the lifetime, reliability, and safety of critical powertrain components. In this role, you will independently perform a variety of tests using specialized equipment, prepare test setups, conduct destructive teardowns, and meticulously document results. You'll also be involved in hands-on troubleshooting, debugging, fabricating parts for test rigs, and managing organizational tasks like procedure creation and equipment maintenance. Required Skills

Education

Completed German vocational training (Berufsausbildung) or recognized equivalent education in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrician, Industrial Mechanics, Automation, or Maintenance, or comparable technical and craftsmanship education.

Experience

  • ~2 years of hands-on experience with electromechanical testing
  • ~2 years of hands-on experience with troubleshooting
  • ~2 years of hands-on experience with failure analysis
  • Professional experience with common power tools and machine shop equipment
  • Professional experience with electrical/electronic equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies)

  • Willingness to work with high-voltage, hazardous material, and hazardous energies using mandated PPE and procedures. Willingness to set up and perform tests in person and in lab environments. Experience with mechanical cross-sectioning, polishing, and optical microscopy is a plus.
