Job Summary

As a Commissioning Engineer for Rail Vehicles, you will be responsible for conducting functional and system tests on rail vehicles, both stationary and during test drives. This includes verifying safety-critical systems like automatic train control, configuring and approving central vehicle functions using specific test software (e.g., Siemens RailCom, Alstom Train Control), and meticulously documenting test results and anomalies in digital systems such as SAP or MS Office. You will collaborate closely with technical teams, workshops, and other departments for error analysis, and prepare technical documentation for approvals and inspections, adhering to standards like EN 50126/50128/50129 for braking, train radio, and train control systems. The role also involves supporting customer tests and official authority/institute acceptances, while strictly adhering to safety standards (VDV, DIN ISO). This position requires a technical background, professional experience in commissioning or related fields, a structured approach to problem-solving, and a willingness to travel for on-site work.

Technical degree (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Vehicle Engineering) or comparable technical qualification

Experience

  • Professional experience in commissioning, testing, quality assurance, or similar areas is advantageous
  • Experience with specific test software such as Siemens RailCom or Alstom Train Control is beneficial
  • Experience in preparing technical documentation for approvals and inspections
