Job Summary

We are seeking a Backend Developer to join a project for Deutsche Bahn, focusing on developing and enhancing a high-performance booking and ticketing platform. This role involves integrating complex booking and payment processes into a modern microservice architecture, ensuring high standards of security, performance, and scalability. The position also entails a transition to a cloud architecture with CI/CD and test automation, alongside coaching technical teams. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Computer Science or a related field, at least 3 years of experience as a Lead Developer in complex IT projects, and proficiency in Java EE, microservices, DevOps, cloud environments (like AWS), and test automation. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Frankfurt am Main, offering competitive compensation under the BAP tariff plus allowances.

Required Skills

Education

Completed Diplom or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Lead Developer in complex IT projects
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Java EE, GitLab, Eclipse, Docker, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, and JSON
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Microservices, Software System Design, and DevOps
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Test Automation, Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Cloud Environments (e.g., AWS) and Cloud Architecture
  • Experience with modern databases in cloud environments (e.g., PostgreSQL, S3)
  • Experience with asynchronous processing and queueing mechanisms (e.g., ActiveMQ)
  • Professional experience in software architecture, testing, deployment, and maintainability
  • Professional experience in coaching and advising technical teams
