Job Summary

This position offers a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to conduct cutting-edge research in energy-efficient microelectronic circuits and systems for high-speed communication. You will be involved in the design, implementation, and characterization of advanced digital and mixed-signal circuits using CMOS and SiGe technologies, including RISC-V processors and AI/ML hardware. The role requires independent research, publication of findings, and support for teaching activities. You will join an internationally renowned research group at the Technical University of Berlin, collaborating with national and international partners and industry. This is a challenging, full-time, fixed-term position for 5 years, with potential for part-time work, offering a competitive salary (Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L) and a supportive, diverse work environment.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree, Diploma, or equivalent in Technical Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.

Experience

  • Successfully completed scientific university studies (Master's, Diploma, or equivalent) in Technical Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
  • Expertise in the design and verification of digital circuits at the Register-Transfer Level using Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
  • Experience with FPGA design flow or VLSI design flow for integrated circuit design.
  • Experience with logic synthesis and place-and-route tools (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Synopsys Design Compiler, Synopsys IC Compiler II).
  • Knowledge in the field of computer architecture and/or AI/ML hardware architecture.
  • Programming skills (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Tel).
