Job Summary

As an EMC Test Engineer in Kiel, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic vulnerability (EMVU) tests for complex assemblies and systems, both domestically and internationally. This involves setting up test environments, selecting appropriate measurement equipment, conducting measurements, documenting findings, and evaluating results against relevant EMC standards and EU directives. You will also create detailed test reports and collaborate closely with development teams to resolve any deviations. The ideal candidate possesses a technical education or degree in electrical engineering or a related field, with several years of practical EMC laboratory experience and a strong understanding of automotive network standards. Excellent communication skills and a structured, solution-oriented approach are essential.

Required Skills

Education

Completed technical training (e.g., Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems, Electronics Technician for Automation Technology, System Electronics Technician, Mechatronics Technician) with further qualification, or a further qualification as a Technician (Electrical Engineering/Electronics), or a completed degree (B.Sc./M.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or Information and Communication Technology.

Experience

  • More than 3 years of practical measurement experience in an EMC laboratory
  • Professional experience in an electrotechnical development environment
  • Experience with relevant EMC standards, EU directives, and automotive network standards
  • Experience planning, coordinating, and leading EMC and EMVU tests
  • Experience preparing measurement setups and ensuring stable measurement environments
  • Experience evaluating measurement results and creating test reports
  • Experience presenting results to stakeholders
  • Experience working closely with development and other departments
  • Experience with national and international business travel
