Job Summary

The University Hospital Düsseldorf (UKD) is seeking a Technical Assistant to join the Institute for Transplant Diagnostics and Cell Therapeutics (ITZ). In this role, you will process (stem) cell, blood, and tissue samples under GMP and cleanroom conditions, including cryopreservation. You will cultivate cellular medicines like CAR-T cells according to ATMP guidelines, perform quality control using methods such as flow cytometry, and support the development and validation of production and quality control procedures. This position requires a completed vocational training as a Medical Laboratory Technician, Biological Technician, or Chemical Technician, ideally with experience in GMP-regulated environments, particularly stem cell production or cryopreservation. You will work in a leading company contributing to innovative therapies, with a structured onboarding process and opportunities for professional development. The role involves 38.5 hours per week, with no weekend or night shifts, and offers standard public service benefits.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Medical Technician for Laboratory Analysis (MT-L), Biological Technician (BTA), or Chemical Technician (CTA)

Experience

  • Experience in a GMP-regulated environment, ideally in stem cell production or cryopreservation is desired
  • Knowledge in cell cultivation and isolation techniques is advantageous
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory techniques and instruments
  • Familiarity with documentation and quality assurance requirements in GMP environments

Additional

  • Willingness to participate in an on-call duty service. Limited to 03.06.2026 due to maternity leave cover. Potential for extension if parent leave is taken. Preference for severely disabled applicants in case of equal qualification. Part-time employment is possible.
