Job Summary
This role involves monitoring and DevOps tasks for modern High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems within a hybrid cloud setup, ensuring high availability and performance. You will implement, develop, and operate monitoring, logging, and deployment solutions, alongside hardware-level system support. The position also includes creating documentation, assisting researchers with project planning and development, and promoting best practices in scientific computing and HPC resource utilization. You will also stay informed about new HPC trends and architectures, recommending improvements for the hybrid cloud stack to meet academic and industrial needs. The ideal candidate possesses a relevant degree or equivalent qualification, strong programming and scripting skills (Python, compiled languages, Unix/Linux/Bash), and experience with HPC/cloud solutions.
Required Skills
Education
Completed, relevant diploma or master's degree, or equivalent qualification (e.g., Fachmatura with specialized knowledge or relevant professional experience)
Experience
- Professional experience in automation of monitoring, maintenance, and operation
- Professional experience in programming and scripting (Python, performance-oriented compiled language, Unix/Linux incl. Bash)
- Several years of technical expertise in managing HPC and/or cloud solutions (e.g., OpenStack, Kubernetes)
- Experience in deployment of hybrid systems (advantageous)
- Experience with user support for technical systems (advantageous)
