This role involves the detailed investigation, assessment, and documentation of damage incidents on engine components, collaborating with internal and external clients. The specialist will meticulously plan and manage work processes, including selecting appropriate testing techniques based on technical and economic factors. A key responsibility is coordinating laboratory investigations to pinpoint the root cause of damage, synthesizing findings, and documenting them in comprehensive reports. The position requires close collaboration with structural mechanics and project planning departments to evaluate deviations and investigation results concerning their impact on component function. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills, coupled with a proactive and responsible approach to work.

Required Skills

Education

Master's or Diploma degree in Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (with a focus on Materials Engineering)

Experience

  • Professional experience in assessing investigation results from light and scanning electron microscopy, especially regarding fractographic issues
  • Practical experience with components and materials
  • Knowledge of damage analysis and manufacturing processes/materials used in engine construction
  • Proven ability to structure complex tasks and successfully manage parallel projects
  • Experience in preparing technical information for documents and presentations
